Module Three Review Questions Quality Function Deployment is crucial for a company to implement. With QFD comes a four step Customer-Focused Development Plan. This means that a company can utilize customer feedback to create a product that consumers will buy. The first step in the process is Product Planning. In this stage the company defined customer needs and plans a product to meet those needs. The second step is Assembly and Part Deployment. In this stage, the company must identify critical parts and assemblies of the product. The third step is Process Planning. This stage determines critical processes and establishes the parameters for them. The final step is Process and Quality Control. This is the most critical step because it establishes control methods and inspections to test the product. Service Encounter Design is almost the same, but it focuses more on the human-centered approach of the customer experience. Both are direct communication methods from the company, and the consumers. Design for Reliability or DFR is the entire set of tools that are necessary to support the product design process, and upholding the customer expectations. DFR is implemented in every product stage to ensure that the customer is truly getting what they want. If a product is not reliable, then the consumer will not want to purchase it.
