This song represents anomie within the structural functionalist theory because Miranda Lambert’s composition of “Mama’s Broken Heart” expresses multiple examples of a lack of moral regulation in terms of what is expected in the terms of society and what is respectable and proper. We can see this in quickly into the song with the lyrics “My mama’s phone started ringin’ off the hook, I can hear her now sayin’ she ain’t gonna have it”(Lambert).
