Motivation, whether external or internal, drives people to keep going even when they may be experiencing obstacles. Claudette Colvin from Freedom Walkers, as found in StudySync, was the original Rosa Parks; she refused to give up her seat in the black section of a bus to a white person as it was her constitutional right. Grover is a satyr in Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief; he helps Percy throughout his quest, but Grover has one goal in mind: to become a searcher and find his long-lost god, Pan. People are motivated to conquer feelings of uncertainty because they know internally that the end result is worth it. No matter how young or old a person is, if they have internal motivation, they have the key to success.

She knows she isn’t breaking the law and isn’t going to let anyone push her around. She is adamant that it is her right to stay seated right where she is. One thing the quote doesn’t mention is the fact that she is crying while this happens; she shows a raw sense of fear and frustration that no trained professional can. She is motivated by her lack of rights and freedoms as a black woman. She knows that this is one step closer to her end goal, the luxuries, and freedoms that only white people
