Growing up in two completely different states has been an experience that opened my mind to understand how we adapt to different ways of living. I love Wichita, KS, where I grew up, just as much as I love Las Vegas, where I lived for a while. What I have learned from living in such different states is that Wichita and Las Vegas, like most states, have differences in size, weather, and way of living. Wichita, Kansas has a population of approximately 386,000 people, which makes it the largest city in Kansas. It has five main highways, which can easily take you anywhere in less than fifteen minutes. One has to be prepared with four different types of season wear for spring, summer, fall, and winter. Living in Kansas the weather is often unpredictable. One day the weather can reach seventy-five degrees and the next day it is suddenly snowing. The summer weather can get quite hot and humid. While the winters are extreme, resulting in week longs snow days. During these snow days schools, banks, and other places close. Another not-so-fun fact about living in Wichita is the fact that it lays in Tornado Alley. On the other hand, Las Vegas is located in the middle of the Mohave Desert. Throughout the year, the weather stays around seventy-five degrees, the summers are exceedingly hot and dry, and the winters are hot but chilly at night. Las Vegas weather is so warm that everything is open twenty-four hours. One of my favorite things about living in Las Vegas was being able to wear shorts all year long. The lifestyle in Wichita is fairly calm and relaxed. Personally, I feel that Wichita has brought me together with my family and friends. I like Wichita because is a very quite place, where nothing
