Two different states that I love.
I had the privilege of living in two different states in the United States. Those places have a weighty impact in my life. One of them Bakersfield, California where I live now, and the other is Newark New Jersey where I lived for two years. When you compare them, they seem a dramatically different places, but they have some things in common, and definitely I love them both.
There are many reason why Bakersfield California is my new home now. Both states are striking and distinctive. For example, each has its own nickname. Life in Newark New Jersey is more colorful, and the pace of life is slower. For this reason, whenever I return to Newark New Jersey, it is like an escape. When I arrive to Newark New Jersey, the first thing I notice is the color. In California, many people wear black to be stylish, but in Newark Jersey stylish clothing is the multicolor like a rainbow- colored clothing came from Brazilian and Portuguese people. And because Newark New jersey is smaller, the beautiful green mountain outside the city are always visible. The second thing I notice is the pace of life. They said Newark New Jersey is like New York never sleeps, and it must be true, because I always see people walking and cars on the streets, even after midnight. Unlike the part of Newark New Jersey, in California city definitely sleep more. During the summer families take a walk in the parks, but by eleven o’clock the street is like deserted. In Newark New Jersey people eat their breakfast at home, and most come home from work for more relaxed and longer lunch. In contrast, Californians are often in such a hurry that they do not even stop to eat. For breakfast they buy food on the street, or drive-through, and eat while they are walking, driving, or in the bus. At lunch they order food from work and eat at their
