Mr. Smith killed Mr. Johnson in the craziest way a person could. The debate is was Mr. Smith insane or sane? He was absolutely-positively sane. He knew what he was doing, but is crazy for what he did to Mr. Johnson. I will be going against Mr. Johnson in this case because he does not have a mental illness and does not need to be left alone for what he did. I mean come on he's crazy for what he did but he knew every exact step and movement he needed to do to kill the man. I also have a lot of proof to show you this man was sane. First off, Let's talk about the first things he was thinking about and doing before killing the man. Said and quoted by him “I made up my mind to take the life of the old man….. You should've seen how wisely I proceed-with caution…” (Page 56, paragraph 3 and 4). He was knowing he was being cautious and very quiet in Mr. Smith's house. “I was never kinder to the old man during the whole week……. Every night I turned the latch of his door and opened it…” (Page 56, Paragraph 4). Mr. Johnson was talking with Mr. Smith to make Mr. Johnson seem nice when actually Mr. Johnson was going to kill Mr. Smith. Mr. Johnson only turned the latch so he could get in every single night to see Mr. …show more content…
Smith. “I knew that sound well, too. It was the beating of the old man’s (Mr. Smith) heart.” (Page 58, Paragraph 8 and 9). Mr. Johnson is obviously trying to get into Mr. Smith's head and is glad that Mr. Smith is getting scared. “The old mans (Mr.Smith) hour had come! With a loud yell, I threw open the lantern and leaped into the room. He (Mr.Smith) shrieked once- once only.” (Page 58 and 59, Paragraph 9). Mr. Johnson knew what he was doing and knew what Mr. Smith was going to do, he was prepared. “The old man was dead. I removed the body and examined the corpse.”(Page 59, Paragraph 10). Only a person who knew what to do would examine a body, people who don’t know what they are doing would just leave the body
