In a rapidly changing global society, the field of education sees many changes. Whether these changes are positive or negative cannot be determined. However, the education staff from administration to teachers, as well as coaches can help positively change the education of many students despite the quickly changing global society. As a student pursuing a degree in education, I have to know the different aspects of education as far as where it needs to improve to provide the best learning experience for the children. As a young girl I was inspired by my 4th grade math teacher, Mrs. Hartley. Mrs. Hartley was a loving, kind, compassionate woman about her teaching career and her school children. Hartley saw this strength in me and she exploited it. I became a peer tutor to one of my fellow classmates who struggled. We sat together at a table and I had to teach them just like I was taught. After mentoring my peer for a significant amount of time, I helped him/her find the destination of success when they were lost in the concept. For the first time in my education, I successfully communicated a concept to another student in need which ultimately sparked my passion for teaching. Ever since that moment as a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a school teacher like Mrs. Hartley so I, too, could inspire young children. Now that I am in high school and making decisions for my future, this is the route I am choosing to take. My goals for the future are to acquire a college degree in education where I can then pursue a career in educating the youth of America. With my knowledge, I will teach, inspire and educate young, shapeable minds down the path of success. Throughout the next five to ten to twenty-five years, I hope to see a positive change in the education of children.
