Ms. Carter faces issues that many entrepreneurs face when expanding overseas. These issues include social cultural change, economic difference, Political legal difference, free market/ trade restrictions. Any of these may have made the impact on why she wasn’t as successful in China but successful in America. If Ms.Carter adapts to the chinese culture she’ll do fine. Ms. Carter’s products are excellent and are being sold in America she needs to learn how to adapt to all countries she’s will to be selling in. Most companies that try to franchise in other parts of the world learn to adapt they learn from their mistakes for example McDonald’s sells hamburgers but in India they find the cow a sacred animal so they have switched all the burgers that include beef to veggie or masala burgers. A big factor in which Ms.Carter’s product wasn’t as successful as she hoped is the economic difference between china and America. Maybe the recipes she was selling was a hit in America but not in China she’s going to have to learn to change some recipes or add new ones that will be more popular in China. …show more content…

Ms.Carter is new to the chinese market well every foreign market she has never imported her recipes anywhere only sold them in the states. Da Chan says he barely made enough profit to cover the licensing fees in the contract. Ms.Carter could easily be successful by either lowering her cost of the recipes against the competitors or she makes other recipes that are valued higher in the Chinese markets .A big thing that may also have plummeted her profit margin was tariffs and import quotas.
