The film entitled “Much Ado About Nothing” was an original Shakespeare classic. John Wedon attempts a retelling with the use of modern set and uses the original old English script. However, I fear that this in itself was the folly of this film. Perhaps it would have been viewed under a lighter note if it had been presented in either its original time period or with an updated script. The film is much comparable to that of modern day soap operas in that it includes the scandal of an assumed love affair with that of an ending of two couples falling into each other’s arms. First to show their love would be that of the character Claudio portrayed by Fran Kranz and that of Leonato’s daughter Hero represented by Jillian Morgese. In the film we will discover that Benedick (Alexis Denisof) falls for Hero’s cousin Beatrice (Amy Acker). …show more content…

John and his companions stage a scene of virtue within Hero’s room in the event to lead Claudio to believe his beloved is unfaithful. To me here lies the fault as with any man his reaction would have been more imminent and rash. For it has been proved many times in the number of crimes of passion that we have documented, if I were Claudio I would have stormed the room with rage. In the film however he waits all night and onto the next day in front of countless friends and family to embarrass not only his be trove but his own honor as
