But today we will focus on the evil and dishonesty that happens within the play. He uses means of manipulation and most importantly deception to get what he believes he deserves, which is power. Within this essay, we will be investigating how prodigy William Shakespeare used the theme of deception within the play. Many things happen within the movie, but we will focus on these two major plot lines, which include where Don John tries to trick Claudio and where he manipulates Don Pedro and Claudio into thinking Hero had committed adultery. This character Don John was created by the genius William Shakespeare. Is the epitome of trickery and evil as he would do anything in his power to destroy the lives of others as anyone who crosses paths with him will be put to misery. This is due to him being a bastard, meaning he is what came out of an affair. As he is not the true blood of the Don family, he will never be the true prince of Aragon as his brother Don Pedro is, this has caused Don John to be enraged and take out his anger on anyone who even looks at him wrong.
