“Her heart sank into her shoes as she realized at last how much she wanted him,” F Scott Fitzgerald once quoted. This quote perfectly explains the realization of true love and how love takes time to develop. In William Shakespeare’s comedic novel, Much Ado About Nothing, Claudio and Hero see each other and experience an instant love. Claudio and Hero show a more realistic love in today’s standards while Benedick and Beatrice do show a comedic unrealistic love that would never happen in present time because a relationship isn’t realistic.

That relationship is the relationship of Beatrice and Benedick which is nothing to a real life situation. Beatrice and Benedick fight quite a lot for having feelings for eachother. Benedick tells Beatrice to “keep your Ladyship still in that mind, so some gentleman or other shall ’scape a predestinate scratched face” (I.i.131-133). He also says many more insults to Beatrice and Beatrice to him; which in a relationship which now in days arguing gets a person the status of being a single. Also, Beatrice and Benedick claim they would never marry with anyone but proceed to get married. Benedick claims that nobody would ever see the sign “Here you may see Benedick the married man” (I.i.261-262). He clearly states that he will never marry but all of the sudden decides marrying Beatrice is just great, he simply goes against his word out of nowhere, not very realistic in today’s world where a lot of people are stubborn and stick to their word. Benedick and Beatrice only start getting closer because they are tricked. Prince states the he “will in the interim undertake one of Hercules’ labors, which is to bring Signior Benedick and the Lady Beatrice into a mountain of affection, th’ one with th’ other” (II.i.355-358). This shows that the reason that Benedick and Beatrice become interested in each other is because of tricks pulled off by the Prince and not by the feelings of Benedick and
