The Murdaugh family murders have to be one of the most intriguing and interesting stories that has happened in South Carolina maybe ever. The Murdaugh family, what many looked at as southern royalty due to their wealthy past, came crumbling down when father Alex Murdaugh killed his son Paul and wife Maggie. Firstly, what seems to be the start of the downfall was when oldest son Paul, was involved in a fatal boat crash accident. Paul was “charged in 2019 with drunkenly crashing a boat in an accident that killed one of his passengers, 19-year-old Mallory Beach, and injured several others”.
“The truth was, at this point Papa did not know which way to turn. In the government 's eyes a free man now, he sat, like those black slaves you hear about who, when they got word of their freedom at the end of the Civil War, just did not know where else to go or what else to do and ended up back on the plantation, rooted there out of habit or lethargy or fear” (Farewell to Manzanar, ----). Papa was just one victim of injustice. After the Japanese dropped a bomb on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1947, all Japanese Americans were relocated to internment camps. Joaquin Murrieta once said, “there is nothing so dangerous in its consequences as an injustice to individuals.” If Joaquin Murrieta knows anything about life it is about suffering injustices throughout his lifetime. Joaquin is known for being an outlaw, leader, and founder of an outlaw gang during the Gold Rush named the Five Joaquins. In history, there have been many versions of Joaquin Murrieta; some people describe Joaquin Murrieta as a real-life Robin who stole from the rich to give to the poor, and others describe him as a fifty robber who robbed for his own benefit. The truth is that Joaquin Murrietta was not good but not bad either; he was just human and just did what he needed to survive.
The Story of Maci Kean When you think of people in a kid’s life, you probably imagine two parents, siblings, friends, and teachers. What you don’t typically think is a social worker, a judge, foster homes and a dead mother and father. This became the case for the then 15-year Maci Kean, as well as over 100,000 kids in the United States. When Maci was just a toddler, she became deaf due to a high fever and her father passed away when she was just two due to drug abuse. When she was around the age of 13 her mother passed away as well due to a drug overdose after getting out of jail.

Two World War II era memoirs provide many instances of dehumanization, Farewell to Manzanar by Wakatsuki Houston & Houston (1973), which is about a young Japanese American girl that was put into the Manzanar internment camp, and Night by Elie Wiesel (1958) which follows a Jewish boy through two Nazi concentration camps.
