Mutual Relationships Throughout an individual's life, they take part in innumerable relationships with a variety of people. Each relationship is different from the next. Some are bad relationships and unfair to one side. However, there are relationships that are mutual. A mutual relationship is one where both individuals benefit from the friendship of the other. These can also be called win-win friendships. Max and Kevin from The Mighty, Mitch and Morrie from Tuesdays with Morrie, and George and Lennie from Of Mice and Men each share a mutual relationship with one another.
In the movie Tuesdays with Morrie, Morrie and Mitch have a mutual relationship. Morrie teaches Mitch valuable life lessons for weeks, and Mitch gives him companionship. Mitch also beings to care for Mitch in little ways. Both are benefitting from the relationship, which makes it a win-win for both individuals. Additionally, Morrie offers advice to Mitch about his girlfriend. Through their relationship, each party gained something. Mitch gained knowledge from his former college professor about life, and Morrie gained an old friend back and friendship in his last few weeks.
