When I was 17 years old, I left the cult that my entire community was involved in. I found God at my local church (First Southern Baptist of Hurricane, Utah) where I learned about Him, the bible, and who God called me to be. As I developed as a Christian I noticed my grades in school, my relationships, and my personal goals dramatically changed for the positive. I know that my salvation will impact my academic work and goals at Colorado Christian University. I trust in God for everything in my life. When God tells me what I am supposed to do, I know that He has my best interests in mind even though the path may be difficult. Also, I want to please God with everything that I do. During my last semester I received straight A’s, because God has changed my heart about school and the importance of an education in my life. As I have grown in the Lord, I have noticed that I love more sincerely. Even when people do something wrong against me, I have learned to love them. My heart and mind has changed because God first loved me. God is sovereign, so I trust in Him which means I obey Him. Next, Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. With Jesus as my living sacrifice, I am cleansed and purified; accordingly, I am His servant and disciple. Plus, through the Holy Spirit, God prompts me by using the bible, prayer, and circumstances. Being centered on God allows me to further His kingdom, to in an intimate relationship with Him, and to do His will through His strength in my academic work and goals. I owe everything that I am to God because He saved me. I want to give my life back to God by serving Him with every breath and action. My ultimate goal is to become a missionary to help people get basic necessities such as a clean water source while I teach people about the God who saved me. My love for people shows that I am God’s
