Every organization has a set of goals and a mission that separates it from all other institutions as well as gives it a certain reputation in the community. The overall mission, vision, philosophy, and goals are the underlying purpose of the organization that makes it unique, Iwasiw(2015).
Timed Write A college degree is thought to be the most successful way to progress further in your life and career. While this may be true in some cases, it isn't always true. I have chosen to apply to Covenant College because I seek a deeper relationship with the Lord that transcends into every area of my life, and I believe that I can facilitate that growth with the Christ-centered curriculum and community Covenant has to offer. I see the importance of being a witness to Christ at a secular university, but during my college education I want to better equip myself to proclaiming Christ in my profession and day-to-day living. Throughout the next formative years of my life, it is important to me to surround myself with young people who serve the Lord. Encouraged by conversations with my admissions counselor and information on the website, I believe I will easily mesh into the dynamic that exists at Covenant and cultivate lasting relationships. In addition, I tremendously value access to nature.

Getting involved means being apart of something more, having the chance to met different people, helping out the community, but its also means learning more about who you are as a person. Starting off at Washburn University I plan to get involved right away, in activities or clubs that would help my academically and socially like the Hispanic club , Freethinkers and French club. I will set goals for myself and achieve them, some small some big. One goal I am pursuing right now is learning french and Portuguese, i plan on going to Brazil next year. School goals, are turning in my work on time, stay focused on any task that is given to me, making sure I understand what i need to do and how to do it.
This is because I question if I could have done a better job of compartmentalizing my personal struggles with family matters and mental health. This is something I have struggled with, but I am proud of the performance I put forth, because I know that even staying in college seemed to difficult at times. More than that I value the experience as it slowly taught me how to compartmentalize at a high level, something that I know will be useful for a career in
I presently find myself at that point in my life where I’m theoretically to decide what I want to do for the remainder of my life. There’s no uncertainty that I will pursue a college education, as that is what is paramount for my future. Malcom X once said “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” My ultimate goal is to acquire the most promising, advantageous education possible. With any luck, this will permit me a career that sustains a suitable quality of life.
Finding motivation to attend college is easy, keeping the motivation to finish is the difficult part. I decided to enroll in college to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Finance. I hope that the degree will give me the opportunity to apply for a better position within the organization that I currently work for. A secondary goal of returning to school is to demonstrate to my son that attending college is required for many jobs and that returning to school as an adult has various difficult challenges. I have been working for the past nine years as an Assistant Financial Officer and am highly competent at my job.
This semester will be my second at the University of Arizona, at 33 years old with a high school education, it is an understatement to say that it was fairly intimidating to be immersed in an academic community of fresh young minds straight out of high school. My strategy for this new chapter in my life has been to reflect on and use my past experiences for guidance and to have a clear set of goals that I continually draw upon for the motivation to keep pushing forward. The act of writing these goals down is not a new concept, in my previous career it was mandated that several times a year I would meet with a mentor and discuss and write down my personal and professional goals. I have continued this practice in my academic career.
College was always one of my long term goals as I continued with my education. Throughout the years I began to work harder and harder so I could secure my future. I knew that getting to college would not be easy. I am about to embark on a four year journey in one of the hardest fields to pursue. I will continue my education as a Nursing major at a four year university.
