My Writing Process Essay

Few years ago when I was in my school, for me writing is only to fill the pages as much as you can without any rules, without any good academic words, without any good grammatical structure and without any sequence to earn good score. All the time I struggled with my writing and I never understand the mistakes in my writing. When I came here in US I was following the same pattern with the same writing style and struggled to pass any of my exams with flying grades. In most of my academic writing I would lack a proper essay structure without any introduction paragraph, without any body paragraph and without any conclusion. Reading is one of the key for writing. After I started reading books then I started learning new different words, different new techniques to write which really affected my writing and made it more interesting to read. Last week I read an interesting article about how certain reading techniques can help make me a strong learner. In article “How to mark a book” Mortimer J. Adler said “Full ownership of a book comes only when you made it a part of yourself, and the way to make yourself a part of it by writing on it”. This quote also shows you the link between writing and reading. Adler believes that when you start writing on the book regarding the reading material and start think critically about what you read then it means you are learning something. Reading is not only about the reading speed that how quickly you read the material, it is about how good you understand the purpose of the reading. For example if i am reading any article to use in my essay than it is important that i understand the concept as well. If i mark a book and write my thoughts, my questions in the book it helps me to remember everything and it also gives me an idea of my ideas coming in a sequence. This process is time consuming but it is really worth it because during the writing process it takes less time to organize your ideas.
