Second thing about Prometheus is — he betrayed his people (Titans) by helping Zeus during the war ( Olympians VS. Titans). In the first few sentences, I wrote the Prometheus stole fire form Zeus right? Why? It’s because he loves his creations.
As one version of the myth goes, Prometheus and his brother Epimetheus were punished for not fighting alongside the Titans and were sent down to earth and given the task of creating man and protecting him. Prometheus gifted man fire and allowed him to stand upright like the gods. In a food sacrificing ritual to the gods, Zeus was tricked by Prometheus, which angered him very much. As punishment, he took fire from man and returned it to the heavens. Prometheus, who loved man dearly, defiantly climbed back up to the heavens and stole fire to return it to man.
Hesiod’s Theogony was no longer able to satisfy the higher minds among the nation. Thus, inspiring Aeschylus to write tragic poets such as Prometheus’ Bound in order to express his own ideology and pointing the moral of tragedy. It is no surprise that Hesiod viewed Zeus as a glorified olympian hero and Prometheus as a traitor who stole fire and gave it to mankind. Aeschylus’s idea of Prometheus was conflicting to Hesiod, whereby he viewed Prometheus as a god supporting the civilization of mankind.
Humans wrote myths long ago, yet have a lot of relatable truths and morals. For example, in the myth of “Prometheus,” his kindness of giving gifts to humans out of his pity for not being able to survive yet ends him up in severe punishment. Similarly, in The Lightning Thief, Thalia’s bravery and compassion end up with her having to be sacrificed. In both texts, Prometheus and Thalia show how good deeds may end in misfortune. 1
Legends suggest that the Greek God, Prometheus, who gave the man the ability to create a fire so that they could thrive, angered Zeus when he did so. To manipulate the abundant and happy earth created by Epithemeus, Zeus punishes Prometheus endlessly and creates Pandora to unleash on man all the griefs and hardships known today. Aquila, the pet eagle of Zeus, showed the gentler side of his nature when he carefully carried up Ganymede to Mount Olympus to be cupbearer to his master. However, when considering the myth surrounding Prometheus, the ferocious, darker side of Aquila is very evident. Prometheus was one of the last Titan gods who became an advisor to Zeus. He was protective of humankind and, seeing how they suffered because they had no fire, he stole a ray from the Sun which he smuggled down to earth in a hollow stem. Zeus did not believe that man was worthy of such a gift, and was furious that Prometheus had acted without his permission.
At first praised by man for his trickery and their newfound gift, Prometheus soon became the reason for humankind’s downfall; “[Prometheus] you are pleased at having stolen fire and outwitted me—a great calamity both for yourself and for men to come” (38). Having lost Zeus’ favor and his favor for mankind, Prometheus’ story will serve as a reminder to society and all whom wish to life a better life by unmoral means—such as cunningness or thievery—will face the consequences sooner or later. Another example of this can also be seen in The Odyssey, in Book Nine, when Odysseus uses his cunning self to stab the cyclops Polyphemus in the eye and escape his cave. Triumphant at first, Odysseus and his crew were proud of his trickery. Odysseus even went as far as to taunt Polyphemus as they were trying to leave the island.

Prometheus is one of he most enduring figures in greek mythology, he is the one and only titan who sided with Zeus against Zeus 's father Cronus, Cronus over threw his father Ouranos by defeating him and became the new ruler of the titans, and he ends up eating all of his children and and his wife Rhea could only save one and that one was Zeus, which he defeated and forced him to throw up all his siblings out and him and his siblings defeat the titans for control of the universe. Even though the Greeks were known for their religious values, but also had other important events that took place as well like the Prometheus – Pandora story. The Greeks at this time period was wondering why the Gods Were giving them so much hell, which my assumption would be that the Greeks kept taking stuff from the God, but I could be wrong, but most likely it would be true. Prometheus ended up taking Zeus fire, which lead to Zeus stating that on (page 35) that “Prometheus and the men in the future will suffer a great pain”. To me this could make since that the Gods gave them Greeks so much trouble because of situations like this.
From Prometheus's myth, society can glean valuable lessons. It reminds society of the delicate balance between innovation and recklessness, emphasizing the need to consider the consequences of one's actions.
I hope to leave the reader with a deeper sense of understanding on how literature can inspire the future generations in ways we don 't yet know. It was written in Greek mythology that, the titan Prometheus was a wise craftsman who taught humans many useful skills, including ‘navigation, writing, and architecture’. Prometheus, created humans by shaping clay into figures that looked like the gods. The gods admired these figures and ‘breathed life’ into them. Zeus disliked the ‘creatures’, but ‘he could not destroy them’.
