Eros was the god of love,other known as cupid in Rome.The theory was that if he shot you with one of his arrows you would fall in love with the next person you would see. Eros’s mother was Aphrodite,goddess of beauty and his father was Ares,god of war.

Eros was married to Psyche.One of the myths on how they met was that a king and a queen had three daughters.One of their daughters was Psyche and she was beautiful. Psyche began to be known of her beauty,and Aphrodite being the goddess of beauty began to be very jealous. Aphrodite sent her son Eros to prick Psyche with an arrow and make her fall in love with an ugly stranger.Eros reluctantly went.When he got there he was so amazed by her beauty,that he pricked himself and instantly fell …show more content…

Apollo told them to leave her on the west mountains.They did as they were told. When Psyche was on the mountains the winds picked her up and took her to Eros’s castle. Where she met her future husband,but,because the castle was so dark she could not see him.Eros told her that she will never see him and to never try to. Psyche became very lonely,so she asked Eros if her sisters could come.When,they came,Psyche told them everything.Her sisters,wanting Eros to themselves,told her when he was asleep to go in his room with a hot oil lamp to see his face.She did as she was told and snuck into his room.When ,she was in his room though,she saw his face and noticed he was very handsome and was very excited and happy.She was very happy and she didn’t noticed that some of the hot oil spilt on his shoulder and he flew up and went out of the …show more content…

Aphrodite was still not pleased. Aphrodite then sent her to collect all of the golden fleece from all of the sheep from the herd that hangs out of the river. When she was about to cross the river,the river god stopped her and told her that if she crosses while the suns coming up then the sheep will kill her.The god tells her that if she waits until noontime,the herd will go and chill into the shade and then she can cross.
She completed the task,but Aphrodite still isn’t
