Do you trust in God’s word? Would you keep your promise like God did? God kept his great promise, about where he was going. His prosperity and his descendants. I feel like God had mixed emotions in Genesis between good and bad, even God can’t be perfect because he was a Jealous God. In Genesis, this promise was repeated a couple times. God was putting together Abram, Sarai and their descendants a destiny, and there was a struggle for these people with the new destiny that was assigned to them. Abram was 75 years old when he left Haran. God changed the name of Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah, the new identity’s for their destiny. There was a bad famine in the land. Abram went to Egypt because he didn’t see any food in Canaan. When Abram and Sarai got closer to Egypt, Abram said to his wife “‘I know that you are a beautiful woman. The people who live in Egypt will see you. Then they will say, “This is Abram’s wife.” Then they will kill me, but they will let you live. Say that you are my sister. Then they will act well towards me because of you. They will let me live because of you.” (Genesis 12:11-13) Once he had sent this to his wife, Abram and Sarai entered Egypt. The people of Egypt saw that Sarai was really beautiful. Once the Pharaoh’s princes saw Sarai. The Pharaoh took her in the palace and Abram became rich from all the Pharaoh gave to Abram. But while Sarai was there, God made the Pharaoh and his household very ill. The Pharaoh called Abram over and said, “You have done an evil thing to me. You should have told me that she was your wife. You should not have said, “She is my sister.” I took her as my wife because you said that. Here she is. On the journey Abram and Lot kept on arguing with each other. So Abram said to Lot, “Here is the whole country. Go away from me. If you go to the left, I shall go to the right.
