There had been word on the news that there was a massive wild fire in California. It was nothing new, we all prayed that the residents of California were safe, but we went on with our lives. We knew that it would be handle and that it would be over in a couple of weeks, but we were wrong. It had been around seven weeks since the fire first started. The firefighters said that they were working on it and to not lose hope. What they didn’t bother to put on the news was that the fire was growing, and fast. People in California were not the only ones fleeing, but neighboring states as well. People were being evacuated from their homes to places that were safer. My father on the other hand refused to leave. We lived on the edge of Organ, in a small town. All our neighbors, and what felt like the whole town, had already left. The air was becoming more and more smoky. I was scared that the fire was getting closer and that we were all going to burn but my mother told me that my father would never let that happen.
