I really don’t like saying that I feed the homeless, I like saying I serve the homeless. I believe you feed cows and dogs and other livestock, but human beings get served, no matter what situation an individual may be in. the way Allen Chapel A.M.E. church started out feeding the homeless was through an organization called Riverside City Mission. They go throughout the city of Riverside, CA asking churches if they may use their facilities to feed and clothe the homeless. Allen Chapel A.M.E Church opened their doors to Riverside City Mission about two and a half years ago, through a Pastor named Stephen Pearson. The city mission loved it there, because the city mission felt wanted and accepted by Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church. He often told me and the homeless, “No matter what you’re going through, God is still in control.” After Pastor Pearson departed from Allen Chapel A.M. E. church, the city mission also left Allen Chapel A.M.E. church. After the city mission left, I stayed with Allen Chapel A.M.E. to help with their homeless outreach program, even though I still volunteer with Riverside City Mission on a weekly basis. One of the Godly and lovely things about Allen Chapel A.M.E. church is that all the food that’s cooked there is from donations from people’s own pocket. The reason I say that is, Riverside City Mission use to get food donated or go to the food bank for their supply of food, but not Allen Chapel A.M.E. church, they do it straight from their
