At the end of a long exhausting day at work martha had time to dwell on the anniversary of her daughter's death while she drove home . The more she thought about it the more she became devastated, angry and sad. Her whole mood was changing as it was getting darker and a storm was approaching. Martha just could not understand why her daughter had to die so young. She knew her husband, Curtus , was already home but was in no mood to put up with his nonsense. Most of the time on the anniversary of Elizabeth’s death, Martha has to be hospitalized for a short time due to her going temporarily crazy. She is just not going to take being hospitalized anymore. The thought of being locked up in a hospital with a bunch of insane people made her want to go crazy just think about it. …show more content…

Earlier in the day her husband asked if she would stop at the store on her way home to pick up something for dinner and she was just too tired and upset to stop. When Martha approached closer to her home she saw lights flickering off and on at all the homes down her street. The storm was causing tree branches to fall and make the power at the homes to fail. She finally made it home after an hour due to an unexpected traffic jam. “Wheres dinner? “ asked Curtus “I'm to tired & upset to get dinner just find something here to eat” demanded Martha. He had forgotten about it being the anniversary of their daughter’s death. Martha was getting more angrier and upset by his attitude. Suddenly the power went out and Martha went to get the flashlight to go down to the basement to flip the breaker. “NO!” Explained Curtus “Why not!” Shouted Martha “It's been years since you've been down there.There's many boxes and some of my prize possessions down there you might trip and break them” Curtus said
