``The woman warrior`` written by Maxine Hong Kingston is a collection of memoirs. It has a hybrid form: it is a myth, fiction, as well as autobiography. ``The woman warrior`` is a book about finding and discovering yourself in the circumstances of a Chinese family and an American upbringing, always fluctuating between the two worlds, wondering about your true self. In ``A Song for a Barbarian Reed Pipe`` a very important theme is the Identity Plot.
“Borders”, written by Thomas King, is a playful story told through the eyes of a child that is actually a spotlight on the serious issues of identity and the conflict within immigrants and their citizenship. With the story revolving around the child’s mother refusing to identify as American or Canadian but instead as Blackfoot when trying to cross the border is a fight against society. The title of story is made obvious, although it fits, King titled the story as such not because of the geographic border, but really the border between how a person identifies with their culture and their citizenship. The conflict against society is analytically dark but is made lighthearted as King presents it through the eyes of a child.
Madison Bumgarner Mrs. Gallos English III Honors 22 March 2018 Is Your Service Dog Legally Certified? Even though many people believe emotional support dogs are considered service dogs and should have the same rights as the others, owners of service dogs are treated unfairly because of the increase in numbers of fake service dogs. This affects the ability for one to use a service dog to its full potential. People cannot be asked to leave a public place if the business thinks it is a fake dog because some service dogs are simply under-trained. The population of those using fake service dogs or emotional support animals are ruining the ability for the disabled to use them without being questioned.
Before my senior year began, I wasn’t wasting my time running around, but I was definitely running. I ran a total 442 miles to train for the full Towpath Marathon this fall, which I completed at the age of 17. Running a marathon is definitely a NTA, as most teenagers spend their time running away from challenges, while I tackled the 26.2 mile obstacle feet first. Within 48 hours after the race, I set a new goal of running the distance in every state of America, and am now training for Marathon 2 of 50.

Novel Essay: Steps of Narrative Structure Following the steps of narrative structure is important when writing a novel. Narrative structure is way for an author to present events in a story. Ray Bradbury used it in a way for the reader to understand the story of Fahrenheit 451.
I am submitting a claim for Hearing Loss due to noise exposure while I was on active duty in Vietnam, 1970-71. As an Intelligence Staff Officer assigned to a five-man MACV District Advisory Team, I was stationed at an ARVN base in Duc Hoa, Vietnam, where I was subjected to noise from both incoming and outgoing artillery—as well as small arms fire, grenades, and RPGs—on a regular basis. During my tour I was also exposed to bombs dropped near the base by the Vietnamese Air Force. Finally, my duties as an advisor required me to fly to locations in a Bell UH-1 "Huey" Helicopters for reconnaissance missions , where I was exposed the loud noises of the aircraft and its armaments through the open door. Ear protection on such missions was never provided.
We have always heard that dogs are man’s best friend, and there is no doubt that most people love dogs and have them as companions. But this time I’m going to show the other face of this amazing creature. This time we will learn about them as therapy dogs and what the job is all about. A therapy dog is a dog trained to provide affection and comfort to people.
Everyone has traveled a different road to get to where they are today. Some roads may have felt longer and more rough, but they were worth the ride. My road to literacy started out on what I would call a dirt road that had a steep incline. What I could not see at that time was that once I got to the top, I had a smooth ride ahead of me. If I would look back at how far I have travelled I would say it was worth it all the struggles along the way, but what is important is the sponsors I had that pushed me along the way.

Over a decade ago in the year of 2007, my family and I adopted our first family dog. Now trace back fifteen years to 2003; my mom loved dogs and wanted to adopt one, but the timing just wasn’t right. In fact, ever since she was a young girl the idea of having a furry canine companion attracted her, but her parents did not allow such a thing due to severe allergies in their family. It was not the right time. My mom was so passionate about dogs that her dream was to become a dog trainer, but her dad (my grandfather) ridiculed her and remarked that she could not make a living as a dog trainer.
Dogs have long been known to make great companions. I have heard from many people who own a dog that a dog is capable of boosting your mood and your health. But is it true? I didn’t know if it was all true until my sister surprised us with two tiny dogs. After having our dogs for several months I noticed it does change our lives in many ways.
Have you ever had a day when you wished you had a dog? As I woke up that cold winter day I felt lonely inside I have never felt that before. It was just this feeling that you only get once in your whole life I felt empty. So all day long I tried to find what was wrong with me but it never clicked. So the next day I was just walking around the neighborhood
Have you ever lost something of high sentimental value that you may never get back? You can start from scraps to rebuild it but it will never be the same… Losing my first dog due to medical problems was very heartbreaking, and I would like to share how I was feeling with you. On my first birthday, my twin and I received a puppy as a gift.
I had just got a new puppy (Black Lab/ Great Dane mix), he loved to play in the front yard. Every day I would take him outside in the front yard on a leash to play. In fact, he loved sitting on the edge of the lawn watching people on their daily walks. He would sit there and observe, waging his tail in delight. In particular, every day I watched this woman walk around my neighborhood carrying this gigantic, sharp object (she was not hard to miss).
