I choose to read the book, Across Five Aprils. It is an intense book that took place during the Civil War, while President Lincoln was in control. It starts with a boy named Jethro Creighton, who is the protagonist. At the beginning of the war Jethro thinks its going to be a demonstrative patriotism. At soon as it started his three brothers, his cousin, and a teacher of his go off to fight.
Hatchet is a book about survival written by Gary Paulsen with the experience he had before. Paulsen lived just as his character in Hatchet lived in the wilderness, also he tried making fire with a hatchet and rocks himself, and succeeded to write the book with such description and realty. This book is one of a kind, and has a very unique way of describing and writing. Also the character, Brian Robeson and the author, Gary Paulsen have a connection between their fourth dimensional personality (the author gave to Brian) that you cannot find easily anywhere. I highly recommend this book to any type of being that can read.
I read the book “Into the Abyss” written by Carol Shaben. I chose this book because I have always known that I wanted to be a pilot and reading a book about a plane crash drew me in, especially after reading the summary, I knew that I wanted to read it. When I chose this book I really didn’t know anything about the book except for the fact that the survivors were the pilot, a politician, a cop and the criminal that was handcuffed to. Into the Abyss is about four men, Larry Shaben a politician , Erik Vogel the pilot, Scott Deschamps a cop, and Paul Archambault a criminal, surviving a plane crash in Canada. It all started when they all wanted to go home but we're running late because of the pilot's errors.
The Andromeda Strain: Techno-Thriller Meets Commentary on Human Nature The thrill begins as soon as the reader opens the book: the small, quaint town of Piedmont, Arizona seems to be showing no signs of life after a military satellite landed there just a few hours before. The retrieval team, composed of Lieutenant Roger Shawn and Private Lewis Crane, is just as confused as the reader, and decides to investigate. Upon entering the town, their initial observation is confirmed; all residents are dead. Bodies lay spread across the streets, suggesting their deaths were instantaneous and unexpected.
It starts out with a foreshadowing of the mission with the flight from Jalalabad over to Abbottabad and gives a general idea of what the majority of the work is going to be focused on. In this time it gives the reader a sample of the rest of the novel and makes the reader want to read more into the book to find out who this guy really is and why he was selected and is willing to accept this daunting task of finding and killing Osama bin Laden. Once reading further into the story, the reader understands what Mr. Owen has gone through. The work informs the reader of the substantial process it takes for Mark Owen to get to where he was, from starting at BUD/S, then going on to Green Team, SEAL Team Five, to be in the process of selection for SEAL Team Six
I think this book is geared to the privileged, 17-21 year olds mostly males also people in the military. In Sierra Leone a civil war is going on; brutal is word you might describe the war a boy named Ishmael Beah lives his life trying to survive on a journey turned into a boy soldier and fighting the war also fighting with himself. The N.P.R.C, the R.U.F, and the U.N all get involved. Ishmael never gives up while on his journey to wherever he ends up.

This science fiction novel, Red Rising, by Pierce Brown, is one of those books you just can't put down. The story takes place on the planet of Mars where the Reds, (on Mars, they are all split into different colors or groups based on social class), are below the surface in tunnels trying to release helium-3 so that the Golds, (which are the highest color/group) can survive on Mars surface. He works deep in the tunnels, risking his life everyday, coming home with bruises and scars each time.
Survival of the Fittest Think of a video game where you are placed into an abandoned city and your goal is to defeat many people around you, and make it back to headquarters before everyone else. That is what Cia Vale has to do in The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau, except it isn’t a video game, it’s real life and it is a nightmare. Main characters in The Testing include the protagonist Cia Vale, her romantic interest Tomas Endress, her mentor Michal Gallen, some of the competitors Ryme Reynolds, Will, Roman Fry, the strange man at the fence, Cia’s mother and father, her brother Zeen Vale, and lastly, the testing administrator Dr. Jedidiah Barnes. Where Cia lives in Five Lakes Colony, after graduating school a select advanced group are chosen
The book keeps you on your toes because when think they are going to escape something happens and the rebels find them once again. I honestly could not put this book down and it was an easy read and would recommend this
