Everyone knows Martin Luther King Jr. but not everyone knows Malcolm X. Malcolm got into the Civil Rights Movement when his father was killed by a white supremacist group called the Black Legion. Malcolm wanted to do something about it so he started public speaking at a place called the Nation of Islam. Malcolm X did plenty of things for African American human rights that people don’t know about. The points we are going to be focusing are on Malcolm’s youth, human right impact, and how he changed. First, let 's talk about how Malcolm’s father changed Malcolm along with his family.
Malcolm X was a huge reason why there was a change in America helped America become what it is today. During the civil rights movement African American did not have many rights. Malcolm X was the daylight that gave people the motivation to make a change in america. So Malcolm X’s philosophy was the best for America in the 60’s. This means that between MLK and Malcolm X , Malcolm X had the best plan for America.

Malcolm X Impact on America For the impact that Malcolm X made throughout history, Malcolm was a person that was looked up to. During Malcolm’s Childhood he was involved with family issues, crimes, drugs, and being in jail. After years of learning the hard way of life, Malcolm adopted the Black Muslim tradition. Because of Malcolm X speeches and involvement in protest and what he achieved, he was able to make a change in our world for white and black people.
Martin Luther King and Malcolm X were two influential men who served as important figures for the Civil Rights Movement. The two men came from diverse backgrounds and had contrasting views in life about religion and African American’s stance in society. Malcolm X was born in Nebraska and had great amounts of exposure to racism. Martin Luther King was born in an educated family in Atlanta, where he experienced racism, but to a lower extreme than Malcolm X. Although they passed away long time ago, they continue to live on today in a world independent of segregation. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X used opposing principles to achieve equality for blacks; King utilized integration of both races and nonviolence as opposed to Malcolm X who separated the same races and employed non violence so as to achieve the same goal.
Martin Luther King’s views helped create a better environment for every race and I really think his political views and strategies were more efficient than Malcolm
Malcolm X gave black America a face during the situation, as he saw his people as an independent and self-sustaining community when separated from any sort of discrimination. He embraced his black culture and history, encouraging young black people to take pride in their heritage and to reject the white standards of beauty and success that had been imposed upon them. This was something that Martin Luther King never had a thought on doing. This focus on cultural and historical identity was a significant departure from the assimilationist policies of the mainstream civil rights movement. As stated in paragraph #2, Martin Luther King’s protests were being put to an end in white communities because those who did not approve of black rights utilized fear tactics to scare the protestors away from their posts.
Malcolm’s speeches acted more as instruments of provocation than conversion. Unlike Martin Luther King Jr.’s campaign, Malcolm’s campaign around the country was a direct assault and it was difficult to see any oppressor that will tolerate such. This obviously accounted for the many police brutalities, imprisonment and deaths among the black race. Malcolm X symbolized black dominance and self-respect, he was one of the greatest forces that shaped the current understanding and interpretation given to conflict and violence in the world politics today. Over the course of the American history, black people were oppressed and treated unfairly. A few ways that society treated black people is by segregating them from white people, beating them up, and taking advantage of them. As a consequence, African Americans grew up in an environment were limited in their abilities, had hatred towards the white, and had a constant judgment from white people. These factors contributed towards the way society viewed African Americans, flawed, uneducated, and poor. Yet, a notable person who overcame these obstacles and made the most out of his experiences was Malcolm X. He made a dramatic change not only in American history but in African American rights.
Without Malcolm, the White people would have not favored Martin Luther King Jr. over other Civil Rights leaders. Towards the end of Malcolm’s life, Martin Luther King Jr. began to become more like Malcolm in a militant way. Martin Luther king Jr. “was also re-evaluating his presuppositions and was moving toward a greater understanding of Malcolm X, especially regarding black pride, separatism, and White America’s lack of commitment to genuine black equality” (Cone, 1992, p. 256). These transformations of Martin Luther King Jr.’s ideas, likely led him to accomplish the revolution of Civil Rights. Although, this is a possibility, it is extremely unrealistic.
As Malcolm grew up seeing his racial ethnicity being rejected in society and being made les, this complied to the racial injustices occurring today. However being hispanic and being the minority, I can easily understand the huge impact his father had on him. My father has been discriminated before and his advice to me stays and shapes me day after
(Mamiya 1). He spread the idea that only a violent revolution would bring change and equality for black Americans. “You don't have a peaceful revolution. You don't have a turn-the-cheek revolution. There's no such thing as a nonviolent revolution,” he said (“Malcolm X Biography” 1).
