Every senior goes through the pile of questions that include “are you going to college?”, “what will you major in”, and so on. In the 1980’s a series was made that would spinoff from the groundbreaking hit show Dallas, this series was the equally popular Knots Landing. Both shows are known for there melodramatic elements, but what is it specifically that makes both of these shows known as a classic example of TV melodrama? To best describe what makes a series like Knots Landing both a melodrama and a serial TV show we will look at two episodes. As a series the show perfectly follows the serial format you find in both TV soaps and modern hit shows.
The first attempt and success to climb Mt. Everest occured in 1953. Since then, almost 4,000 people have been able to scale the mountain, but over 230 people have not been able to climb it successfully. There is a chance of accident or death when climbing this mountain or any dangerous activity. All people should should have the right to rescue services even if they knowingly put themselves at risk because there is always a chance of an accident happening, rangers are there to save people in danger, and there are rescue vehicles being produced to be used in case of an emergency.
Many teenagers and young adults are diverting to "finstagram" to present a slightly different version of themselves. Finstagram is still an existing account on Instagram, but it is a separate account where they present their "real" selves. Valeriya Safronova wrote an article for The New York Times titled "On Fake Instagram, a Chance to Be Real" where she described the effects of "finstagram" accounts as a 'splintering self-preservation. ' Although I agree with this description, I interpret this user behavior as A/B testing. Finstagram has left me smitten.
When a person hears the name Steven Spielberg, they immediately think of the blockbuster movies, Jaws, Extra terrestrial Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones etc. However, Spielberg has directed other important films, many of which were selected to be saved by the national film registry like Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan, for their extreme accuracy in the portrayal of important moments and people in history. Running, that word gives many people different emotions that range all the way from disgust to excitement. Most people will say that they would never willingly run, at least not without some motivation and other people might even say that they enjoy it. This is why the sport of cross country is so strange to people, in fact it is strange to me as well that people would willingly run, despite the fact that I actually run cross country. The main reason that people don 't think running is fun is because it is so physically challenging. Running requires you to always be on your game, the slightest injury or distraction can prevent you from doing your best.

There are many kids around the world that are in reality TV today. They get followed around by people with cameras throughout their life so that the people watching it can be entertained. There are famous kids that are on reality TV like Honey Boo Boo, and others that have been on reality TV for most of their life. Clearly, I believe that it is harmful for a reality TV show to be filmed at my school because it can stress out kids and it can decrease their privacy.
