In her novel, “Ads R Us”, the first character we are introduced to is Barrett and another key character is Taylor. Barrett is wealthy, inquisitive and very compliant. Taylor is an incredibly spoiled 12 year old girl who is very vain. TAYLOR is treated like a princess and has gotten everything she wanted all her life. She is completely influenced by the chattering world.
In life, a true friend is considered to be one of the most important things a person can have. Sometimes friends get in trouble, and when they do it’s your responsibility to help them. The soldier from Panos Ioannides’ story “Gregory” and Ronnie Quiller from Joseph Whitehill’s “The Day of the Last Rock Fight” both have friends that they constantly try to keep out of trouble. When in trouble, a friend will do everything in their power to assist you.

In “Fastbreak” by Mike Lupica, Jayson faces many struggles in poverty. Jayson has no money and he is all alone until he gets caught stealing. Now Jayson lives on the rich side of town with new people. Through the stories hardships when Jayson moved to the rich side of town, to him living with new people, and he has a new team and a new school to get used too.
The dynamic between the two brothers is quite interesting since they seem at first not to have a lot in common. Their behavior and actions demonstrate perfectly the differences between the two brothers. One could underline the fact that the dynamic between the two brothers is different from what we previously seen in Tex or The Outsiders because Peter and Edmund have two sisters. Edmund does not seem to accept the changes occurring during his stay in the Professor’s house.
Being kind to other people is part of Arn’s personality, which is a good thing. He shows this kindness to the soldiers because he asks strangers to play with him. Unfortunately, the Khmer Rouge gets rid of this attribute in Arn. Additionally, the author writes, “I don’t do what this tiger in my heart is telling me to do; kill these kid,” (Never Fall Down 195). Instead of being like his old self, Arn changes, and now wants to kill the boys in his school instead of being kind to them.

He said in his speech that he wanted to drive out the Vietnamese forces and destroy their supplies in hopes of stopping the war from expanding. Through different trials and tribulations and defeating obstacles, there are always those people that will stand by you to help you through any problem in life, to be your support system or even go out of their way to solve issues for you. Those people are conventionally considered to be your best friends and considered the force behind you thriving in life. In the stories, A Prayer for Owen Meany and The Kite Runner, two characters, Owen Meany and Hassan, were two disadvantaged people that didn’t let their disadvantages in life and society interfere with taking care of their friends. Though their friends can arguably be considered undeserving toward their acts of kindheartedness, it didn’t cause these two people to falter in their constant
In a life or death situation do you play it safe or take the gamble? Will starts by being naive but persevered through the attack and became more grateful and a stronger person in the end. John was a very strict business man and is competitive just like Will by the end he is happy with everything he has. The little asian woman, Ting, was weak and shy at the beginning but by the end of the book she was more tolerate and became friends with Will and his father. In the novel We All Fall Down by Eric Walters, during a crisis people become their strongest and best self.

In this-award winning novel, Rex’s actions leads to conflict after conflict during the duration of the novel. One event such as this was the time when he cloned new sons and daughters and planned to feed them to the older members of the family when they eventually run out of food. A second event such as this was the time when Eli confronted his father about his deception.
The support of friends and family can help contribute to a character's ability to overcome difficulties. In The One Safe Place by Tania Unsworth, Devin was able to overcome his problems with the help of his friends and family. Devin's grandfather helps Devin overcome his difficulties throughout the story. At the beginning of the book, Devin was struggling to take care of the farm on his own when his grandfather died and remembered his grandfather once said: "' You'll go there someday too, Dev.' His grandfather had told him 'When you're ready to leave.'"

Day After Day and Almost Blue share the same type of psychological tension, gracefully drawn characters and thrilling story that make these novels popular. Day After Day starts off at a somewhat slow pace, but becomes incredibly exciting and action packed as you progress throughout the story.
