Introduction This report is a study of Newcastle’s sustainability, seeking to find a balance between the need for environmental integrity, social and economic growth. The sustainability is to achieve a perfect balance so that the costs and benefits are fairly shared and the environmental, social and economic systems remain intact over time. I would also be talking about how sustainability would attract tourist and maintain the environment in Newcastle. this report would be focused more on the environmental and social issues I would be defining sustainability, analyzing my chosen sustainability issue from Newcastle, using my observations taken on the field trip. In 2010 it became named the UK maximum sustainable city for the second time. Newcastle Council reputedly dedicates their time to enhancing the environment in its improvement to becoming a sustainable city . (M Wainwright 2017 Guardian ) The rules and activities undertaken and promoted by the Council have many influences on the environment . The Council has a leading role in creating a high quality local environment, now and for future generations and in reducing the adverse impact of the city on global communities. sustainability There are so many definitions of sustainability according to Oxford dictionary sustainability can be defined as the ability to be maintained at certain rate or level. according to J Morelli (2011) journal sustainability is the ability to be sustained, supported, upheld, or confirmed. the quality of not being harmful to the environment or depleting natural resources, and thereby supporting long-term ecological balance: The committee is developing standards for products that use energy.
