In the story, “Your Question for Author Here” by Kate DiCamillo and Jon Scieszka, the main character (Joe) struggles with a person vs person conflict. He writes a perfunctory letter to Maureen O Toople and acts like he doesn’t care. As a result, he does not get his author answers. The piece of evidence is going to show the start to the conflict and how it begins. “I actually picked you mostly to annoy Jennifer, because she is crazy about your books and is always talking about the houses or princesses or whatever is in them” (106).
The book Night is written by Elie Wiesel. For my history project I had to find a recurring word, or symbol from the novel Night. The word death is used frequently throughout the book. During World War II, Elie, his family, and other jews from the area, were deported to German concentration camps, known as Aushwitz and Buchenwald. Elderly men were assigned the duty of being “bone-pickers”, which meant they had to grow their nails out very long to pick the flesh off of the deceased’s bones (Choctaw Tribe). They believed that there was great power in an individual’s bones. When the bone-pickers duties to the Indian concluded, they created a large stand, and placed the person ’s horse(s) on it, and then they roasted them. The meat was then shared between the whole tribe (Carson 498).
In the book Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton multiple objects are used to represent big moments in the book and is heavily used. There are many objects that clearly relate to people and relationships between people. The first emblem that represents love between Mattie and Ethan is Mattie's red scarf and ribbon in her hair. The first symbol is the pickle dish representing Ethans and Zeena’s relationship. The final commodity is the cat which represents Zeena.

Through her use of a changing narrative perspective, Margaret Laurence creates a contrast in character development. Laurence shows the reader the male protagonist of the story, Chris, through the eyes of a child first, then of an adolescent, and finally through an adult’s eyes. At the beginning of “Horses of the Night,” the narrator, Vanessa notices that Chris looks completely oblivious towards Vanessa’s Grandfather’s belligerence, as he is displaying “no sign of feeling anything.” This is the first sign Laurence provides about Chris escaping in order to cope with reality. Next, when Vanessa visits Shallow Creek she comes to a realization that most of the stories Chris has shared with her about the farm, only exists “in some other dimension.”

The animals in the painting that are beside Kahlo both seem to represent something. The monkey on the left looks unaffected by the situation that she is in and plays with the thorn branch. The cat on the right looks a bit agitated, with its arched back and its ears which are flattened back. The cat looks like its staring at her and maybe at the thorns too. It sees the branches piercing into her skin, focusing on the wound and aware of the situation.
Elementary school is a big step, especially getting ready for middle school. For example if one is bitter towards someone, meaning jealous or angry, then their middle school years won’t go very well. They will go through being angry and it will make them focus on less important stuff rather than their studies or sports. Similar to the boy in “The Jacket” by “Gary Soto,”he goes through his life being jealous of kids that are happy or have good relationships and new clothes. The boy does not like the jacket his mother got him and does not appreciate it enough, even though it gets the job done.

Within the novel, a Chronicle of a death Foretold the author uses animal imagery to effectively bring across varying themes and concepts within the novella. Marquez uses the symbolism of roosters to comment upon the disloyalty that the bishop and the town have to their own religion.
