Do you believe in Grit?
Nikola Tesla spoke 8 languages, filed and was granted over 300 US patents, made AC current practicable, designed the AC motor (induction motor), and created the foundation for all wireless/radio communication. Grit is the undeniable persistence, immutable passion, and the excruciating acceptance of pain and hardship. Tesla was a genius inventor of the 19th century, single handedly leading the way for the creation of all forms of radio, every AC motor, and much more. The shock of the loss unsettled the 7-year-old Tesla, who reported seeing visions—the first signs of his lifelong mental illnesses.” (History.com Staff). Thus, Tesla suffered from mental illness from a young age. Secondly, Tesla left his home country to follow his dreams. For instance, as Gilbert King, an online author, informs us that in June of 1884 Tesla left his home and his family to follow his work to the United States. Thus, Tesla suffered the pain of leaving his family and friends to follow his work. Thirdly, after years of being alone in his thoughts Tesla eventually lost his mind. For example, as Gilbert King, an online author, informs us, near the end of Tesla’s life he spent most of his time making friends/talking with pigeons. Overall Tesla had a very difficult life that required acceptance of pain from a very early age. Accumulatively, Tesla led his life with awesome perseverance, awing passion, and an outstanding acceptance of pain. Using perseverance he did not give up when all odds were against him, using passion he did not let the impossible stop him, and accepting the pain without question he pushed though.
