I have the qualifying traits to be a successful NJHS member. This is because my personality contains traits of perseverance and bravery. These qualities benefit me and the others around me. My peers would agree that I work hard to be successful, I'm always down to try new things and test my limits. The traits I hold positively benefit me, the people around me, and the people in my work environment. I hold the qualities of perseverance. I show perseverance by always being persistent in my accelerated path. I also set small academic goals for myself. These goals consist of things like getting a good score on an assignment or maintaining a certain grade in a class. If I get a chance to try something new, I’m always willing to take it. An example of bravery I have is my accelerated path. I'm being allowed to have an opinion on whether I should be put in Algebra 1 next year, or move down to regular eighth-grade math. My math teacher, Mrs. King, warned me this class would be very fast-paced and more challenging than what I'm experiencing now, and I was okay with that. All the traits I possess benefit my school and community positively by having a leader to lead other students into acting accordingly. My acts of perseverance could lead others to do the same. I can show them how important it is to set goals for yourself and work hard academically. I feel as if perseverance is important because it can help show how important academic success is, and it can help you put your priorities straight. I hope when others see me showing perseverance, it leads them to try and do the same. My bravery can encourage others to try new things and experience more challenges.
