NFL, The No Fun League
Roger Goodell has been NFL commissioner for 10 years now. Most people feel that Goodell hasn't done the best job as commissioner of the NFL, but I’m going to show some improvements that could go a long way in improving the NFL. Exterminating ties, changing overtime, less flags being tossed for celebrating and move the extra point back will make the NFL more interesting and entertaining for viewers.
The fans and players have spoken, the NFL should get rid of the possibility of games resulting in ties. Randi Rico from WLWT, compared NFL ties to kissing your sister, others have poked fun and compared it fútbol and have made memes out of it. Adam Jones, pro football player for the Cincinnati bengals said “Traveling all the way to London to tie was terrible.” Most fans and players don't like games resulting in ties. NFL football needs celebrations by players, it makes the No Fun League aka NFL turn back into the fun league it once was. In the 2015 NFL season, referees flagged players a total of nine times for excessive celebration, by week 2 of the 2016 NFL season there were 5 flags thrown for excessive celebration. They passed the 2015 totals by week four. To add on, they flagged a total of 29 times for taunting in 2015 and passed that mark by week 6 in 2016. According to ESPN, the number 3 ranked cause for loss of viewership was because of the strict rules regarding celebrating and taunting. More than 70% of fans that participated in a recent poll agreed upon the fact that the NFL should relax when it comes to flagging celebrations and taunts. Knowing this the NFL should let loose a little more and allow celebrations and taunts to keep the games fresh, exciting, more competitive, and add a little more drama leading up to games and during
