Founded in 1967, United Way of Regina is dedicated to improving lives and building its community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action. The organization funds services and programs dealing with issues related to children, poverty and health in Regina. Its current focus is the promotion of learning and development opportunities for children. Debra, Thank you for your post. Your description of Seven Counties Services as an organization that aides individuals “who are fighting addictions, abuse, mental illness, and developmental disabilities” is remarkable (Mrock, 2016, para.1). What a wonderful organization. Crutchfield and Grant (2012) stated that “high-impact nonprofits engage in both direct service and advocacy”(p.49). It is clear from your post that Seven Counties Services provide a service to the individuals whom it engages.
Barnardo’s had a group over 1160 employees and over 8500 volunteers who staff and look after Barnardo 's shops. Barnardo’s also has a support team who have to take care of the Fiancé, Gift Aid, Marketing, Recycling, and last but not least Volunteer Recruitment. In Barnardo’s bigger shops, they would have to employ both a a Deputy Branch Retail Manager and a Branch Retail Manager. Customer service is really important for a business like Barnardo’s because as a branch retail manager they are responsible for every little aspect of the running shop. So that would include processing cash and credit truncations, managing the budget, taking weekly stock accounts and gathering sale figures, banking cash, hygiene, safety and compliance with fire
Besides the new civic organizations, there has been an influx of nonprofit organizations and support groups. Secondary associations tend to be nonprofits; nonetheless because of the uprising in nonprofit organizations it’s a mistake to assume that nonprofit agencies carry secondary association. Additionally, because the whole “a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square” analogy pertains to nonprofits, conceptually we can’t use the trend between nonprofit organizations and social connectedness. Support groups are dissimilar in a way that it is a method of social connectedness but still does not provide the same properties as traditional civic associations. Putnam refers to Robert Wuthnow regarding support groups, “small groups merely provide occasions for individuals to focus on themselves in the presence of others” (Putnam, “Bowling Alone: America’s Declining Social Capital” p. 390).
It was spectacular to learn that Keystone Community Services is a non-profit organization. The funding sources and mission of Keystone Community Services was intriguing and powerful to see an organization that strives to improve a quality of life. In addition, it was amazing to learn about the multi-services program provided under Keystone Community Services. However, I reconsidered and would like to point a change in the organizations. As I understand not only do Keystone Community Services own community reach out, but other nearby communities reach out Keystone assistances.

The EOA attacked the roots of unemployment and poverty by providing training for jobs, issuing adult education, and giving loans to small businesses. The EOA started many Community Action Agencies (CAA’s) that are non-profit private and public organizations that help people help themselves in achieving self-sufficiency. By 1968 there were more than 1,600 CAA’s aiding the poor and unemployed in training for entry level jobs, food programs, housing services, child care, and health services.
Many departments maximize resources for impact, but there are opportunities to streamline service delivery processes and back-office functions for greater operational efficiency. The Division of Community Services programs address vital community needs and provide a breadth of services to many high need populations; however, overall divisional structure hinders the greatest impact of resources. A majority of the division funds comes from renewable federal and state formula grants, which provide ongoing operational support; however, other funding dynamics create obstacles to sustainability. Better utilization of staff and resources. Increased community awareness of

Its weaknesses include operating with a small staff and office space. Its external threats include losing out on opportunities by not partnering with similar nonprofits, and changing social capital and its relationship with the community it serves. There are many opportunities for growth. The ASPC should expand their staff and office space, explore and partner with other nonprofits through Forefront, and use strategic communication to expand their nonprofit to other cities. The ASPC has brought development and opportunities to over 10,000 young people over the last eight years.
To begin with, the economic model has a management style that mirrors that of market-driven businesses, aligning goals and objectives with business principles such as supply and demand (Brainard & Siplon, 2004). On the other hand, the voluntary spirit model relies on a management style that is intentionally different from product and services businesses (2004). In other words, the voluntary spirit model insists that nonprofit missions are not business-like, but instead, are centered on solving problems and nurturing relationships (2004). Next, the organizational structure for the economic model has a relatively strict hierarchy where decisions are driven from the leadership, but the voluntary spirit model’s structure relies on collaboration among members to collectively determine goals and objectives (2004). Lastly, since the economic model is business-like, the incentives for staff appeal to self-serving needs, which means the incentives are often materialistic or monetary (2004).

Non-profit sector is very different from both the public and private sectors. It is a tax-exempt organization or social sector which is mainly formed for the purpose of education, religious, art, animal right or charitable (Hatten, 1997). Popular examples for the non-profit organization are World Wildlife Fund, Do Something, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Green Peace and Malaysia Red Crescent Society. The ownership of the non-profit organizations does not belong to anyone, even the founder of organization, which is very different from other form of business.
