What is Nose Skin Disease in Cats?

There are many types of skin diseases that may develop on the nose of a cat. Called nasal dermatoses, it may be a fungal or bacterial infection, cat acne, a bite wound or other condition that causes lesions.

Some nasal dermatoses may heal with time, but if it does not go away within a week, you should contact your veterinarian to find out what is the cause of the problem and if any special mediation or treatment is necessary.

Symptoms of Nose Skin Disease in Cats

The symptoms may vary according to the origin of the skin disease but usually consist of:

• Ulcers with crusts and/or pus
• Redness from sunburn
• Loss of pigment
• Los of hair
• Nodules that drain pus
