BEST WAY, NUCLEAR

In 2008, Bruno Comby published an article, "The Benefits of Nuclear Energy" which was about energy resources, especially nuclear energy. He thinks that nuclear energy is the best energy resource from every point of view. Comby points out that the pollution that occurring due to fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) and contribution to greenhouse effect. He thinks that renewable energy resources should replace fossil fuels. Comby also says that there are 2 nuclear accidents in history, however there are hundreds of coal accident. I totally agree with the author, I think Comby has an appropriate point about pollution due to fossil fuels and nuclear's being clean. The other thing that i agree with the writer is nuclear energy and …show more content…

Actually only 2 accident in more than 60 years is a great statistic. Only Chernobyl has cost 32 life.(Comby, 2008, para. 12). Although, in modern mining, miner death per year is approximately 30 (Respiratory Protection in Coal Mines, 2012), people still afraid of nuclear more than the other energy resources. Nuclear energy is the most controlled and regardful energy resource. People afraid of nuclear, people afraid of radiation. However, radiation exists everywhere on planet. Just forget about planet, radiation is closer to people than they thought. "Most people are totally unaware of the fact that the human body itself is naturally radioactive" (Comby, 2008, para.18)
To sum up, I agree with the author on each viewpoints, the pollution due to fossil oils, wide spearing nuclear energy and renewable energy resources is necessary and there is a big bias on people about nuclear, because of unknown things about the nuclear. Nuclear energy is such a new source for mankind. It's hard to overcome the bias about it. Eventually when it happens, and nuclear is controlled well, world will reach "not only clean, but also safe, reliable, durable and competitive energy" (Comby, 2008, para.
