I was so interested in educating mothers about the childhood disease that I found it necessary to join the Nigerian Red Cross Society and the National Program on Immunizations. These organizations exposed me to the reality that there is shortage of staff within the healthcare system and a gap existing between the clients and the health care team. Other prevailing issues arising within the healthcare system have its root embedded in these fundamentals.
Our team members conducted a survey that lead to the conclusion that individuals, communities and the nation as a whole consist of different ethnic groups, races with different educational levels. The experience I had with the group was rewarding and I made up my mind to earn my master’s degree in nursing. All my effort was futile for two year. During those years, I was conversant with the healthcare trend and I realized that disease is a constant variable increasing in our society. To meet up with this demand, the human and capital (fiscal) resources must be directly proportionate to the number of clients that seek attention. How could this be achieved effectively when we have a limited number of people in the nursing profession and the available nurses are busy trying to strike an equilibrium between demand and supply? In reality, I had always questioned the medical intelligence because, amidst thousands of client, I have been a victim of laxity, loss of ethical values, ineffective communication, improper documentation and coordination, poor judgments on multiply occasion. I realized that this could be curtailed if not alertly eradicated if we have individuals with prior knowledge of documentation, data analysis and interpretation working with the health team in achieving the best. Such individual(s) should be able to set priorities and stand by every clinical decision in favor of the clients and health care
