Nursing Professional Socialization Name Institution Nursing Professional Socialization During socialization process of nurses, the nursing students are incorporated into the nurses group by introducing the 'way of knowing' or the 'culture' of the group. This enables the nurse to learn about the norms of the group as they learn to be active members of the profession. The socialization process provides a mechanism for the group to think alike, be alike and gain total control of the nursing practice areas. In the nursing role, faculty members act as the agents of socialization by giving a learning environment where thinking is roused, new ideas are introduced, new concepts are discussed and stories are shared. Nurses extensively use Lewin's change theory, and it encompasses three stages unfreezing, moving and refreezing. The theory can be applied in the nursing research. Training and education are necessary for the success of the nursing personnel. Nursing educators can encourage change through nursing research, and thus, committing nursing to clinical practice centered on scholarly inquiry.
