The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services (ODJFS) was founded in 2000 to accommodate individuals and families needing government assistance. Programs include job placement, supplemental food sources, child and adult care, and Medicaid. The ODJFS serves 1,690,273 (“ODJFS Public Assistance Monthly Report,” 2015) with its Supplemental Food Assistance Program (SNAP). The ODJFS Website contains enrollment information, documentation, and applications. This information is required for all who enlist. Accordingly, it is important that the ODJFS website is organized, documents are written well, and designed clearly. However, my research has uncovered multisyllabic words, cryptic phrasing, and redundant language with numerous definitions.

The personal testimony does have the right to be open-to-the-public. But the choice of putting it on the front page of the ODJFS web page does not display the best organizational methods. The best way to organize the web page for clarity would be to consider the audience. Who would like to read her personal statement? If this could be determined by organizing agents, there could be a separate page of testimonies and other forms of certified documents for people who would like to know what is going on in the ranks of the government. As of right now, the access of the document has the opportunity to slow public members down. Homepage links should give the public quick access to programs. Utilizing the front page to describe a personal testimony for the TANF does not give a clear explanation of why it has been placed there. It wastes time, energy, and space. Directing individuals to a link that does not presently help them takes up their personal time, and disestablishes the momentum ODJFS is trying to
