Why Obesity is a Problem In America An estimated 300,000 deaths per year are due to obesity in the United States alone. This result is skyrocketing over the deaths from the Flu which tends to sound a lot more serious of a matter. What is really the problem?
The beginning of our human lives have major effects on our future physically and mentally. Many childhood mishappenings tend to lead humans down paths they didn't want to go down simply because of an ill mental state. 15 to 60 percent of children have bad mental health. The education system obviously is needed, but it is affecting the health of children mentally and physically. While educating children they are generally sitting in a controlled environment for the majority of their day, causing lack of physical activity on top of feeding the children makeshift food, a receipt for obesity.
Growing up with obesity comes with many challenges not only physically but mentally, from words, actions or simply self conviction. Many feel as if they are that way and can't change, causing them to avoid attempting healthier living habits. Or simply don't want to attempt a change for the better in a form of accepting the way they are and not realizing the seriousness of their health situation.
Mental health issues from obesity consist of depression, low self esteem, laziness, issues with the body image as well as being weak minded. All of these effects can happen as early as obesity happens. If you have been dealing with these issues since a child it will have major effects on the rest of your life. Around 45% of people in America suffer from obesity and don't even realize how bad they are really suffering. The underlying health effects of obesity other than being obese in itself is outrageous. It can create troubles breathing, resting and or being active, as in shortness of breath or simply feeling as if you are gasping for air. Sleep problems, and joint and back pain often causing arthritis in joints and back permanently damaging the body. Obesity can also result in complications like high cholesterol and blood pressure, organ problems and cancer. All inner issues you cannot physically see so they can become very dangerous very quickly if you are not on top of keeping your health a priority and avoiding obesity.
Recovery from injury or illness can be very difficult with being obese, your body being under a strain constantly due to health can make it very difficult to ultimately become healthy again. For example if you were to injure your leg your body is now fighting all of these underlying complications while trying to heal your leg. And for illness, if you have been fighting the flu, obesity will not be your best friend to recover due to the health factors of
