Personal standpoint on the growing rate of Obesity in the uk
Thesis-
My thesis is on obesity and how it is a big problem in the uk and it is not getting any better, britain is commonly paralleled with other countries and really believe that the problem is getting worse, people are not seeing the drain on the NHS and how much it is costing the taxpayer and if we do not do something quick to combat this then we may have an epidemic if we want economic stability for our future then we need to act fast.
Main section- The UK are spending approximately £16bn a year and it is costing the Nhs £766m per year out of the NHS. this is a major issue as the NHS are supposed to be financially stable in order to run efficiently which is not the case at

Excessive weight has been blamed for thousands premature deaths each year in England and calculated to reduce life expectancy by an average of nine years. According to the Department of Health, direct costs caused by obesity are estimated to be £4.2 billion per year and forecast to more than double by 2050 if we carry on as we are. This is because a child who is obese has over 60 percent the chance of being bullied than a leaner child. Even though obesity has grown significantly, making overweight and obesity in youth seem more acceptable in normal life, the rate of bullying hasn't decreased so this is no excuse. Many children will end up depressed and have anxiety due to the bullying. Obese children miss more school than children at a normal weight. Many kids will cruelly be left out of social events because young kids will see a stigma with being obese and not want to associate with them. I believe parents need to come to terms with this and the government should create advertising campaigns or events in order to tackle the
