It’s A Disease
When people think about health what is typically the first thing that comes to a persons mind? Most likely some will think a disease that constricts a person of their daily tasks. An issue that most Americans are not taking seriously is on obesity. Once the issue of this disease is presented, are we actually understanding that it is a disease? " It is said that more than one third of the United states is considered obese" (Carson-Dewitt, Davidson, Atkins). Many consider this to be a controversial matter because, doctors say it can be prevented; however, it does meet the definition of a disease. Obesity can decrease life and it can be a cause of genetic factors. Others believe obesity is the result of a sedentary lifestyle. We are undergoing constructive research to prove that obesity is truly a disease. Obesity falls second into the most deadliest disease in America. The weight gain is not someone chooses to undergo. The weight gain is in result of a consequential change in their complicated environment (Carson-Dewitt).
