“She wanted the wait staff to be middle aged black men, wearing white coats and black bow ties”. My jaw dropped. I could not believe what I was hearing. I instantly had such dislike and anger towards this woman. Upon doing research for this week’s discussion I learned the law suit that was brought against her for sexual harassment and discrimination were thrown out.
When I arrived at the location there was a lot of people coming in and out of the building. They had a foyer where they had different hangouts on each side of the wall. I also noticed that they had different application for different services. I noticed they had an application for food stamps. Medicare and other forms as well.
When granny walked in the attendant said, “Charity case I suppose” (para. 69). The attendant just looked at granny and called her charity just because of the way she looked. Assuming by her skin color and how she was dressed that she would not be able to afford whatever she was about to ask for. The attendant started asking granny questions, but she stayed silent this aggravated the attendant, so she started saying things like “Are you deaf” (para. 73) trying to get granny to start talking. The nurse eventually came out trying to get granny to talk as well.
I interviewed Mary at Pruitt Health in Aiken S.C. Mary is a license, Social worker. Mary been working in Pruitt Health sent 2005. Mary told me the history of the agency start of her location in 2007. Mary told me that their facility was once name Mattie C. Hall, but was bought by a young man named Neil Pruitt.
1.1) The client’s name is Ashton. He has just moved from Cape Town to Johannesburg and is currently attending school at St. Benedict’s College in Bedfordview, where he resides in the school hostel until his mother can find the most suitable accommodation for him. He is in the final year of his schooling career (Grade 12), and is on a sports scholarship for rugby. He has a little brother, Paul, who is only in primary school. His mother, however, is still in Cape Town until such time that she is able to find employment in Johannesburg.
1. Even with our medical advances, the United States ranks 29th because of lack of health care for some individuals but also the lifestyle Americans have. Another reason is that class statuses correspond with our health outcomes. What I meant about this, is that lower and middle class individuals are exposed to more health threats than higher class. I walked over and was greeted by a smiley face, Betty was extremely helpful. She went beyond to get me into see someone in the office because of how crappy I looked and felt. As an intern at Preferred Family Healthcare, I am working with individuals in the Residential Care Facility (RCF). I am working with these individuals who 's goal it is to move out of a residential setting into their own apartment. One of the groups I have been facilitating is comprised of three men. These men range in age from early twenties to fifties, but all have the same goal of wanting to move out on their own. Preferred Family Healthcare RCF staff meets weekly to discuss and identify the needs and concerns of these individuals.
As part of my developmental learning for final year of social work is my emerging practice framework. A practice framework is designed as a tool for practitioners (Connolly, 2006). It is a statement about how I will practice as an emerging social worker. This semester I will work on this document throughout my final placement.

Based on the social worker’s observations, the client appears to be neat in appearance and hygiene. His clothes are not wrinkled and he appears clean. The client asked many questions to the social worker and has stated he expects the social worker to always have an answer for everything. The social worker feels as if Conrad may not have an outlet for his feelings outside of therapy. The client tends to interrupt the social worker so that he may speak about what’s on his mind.
The agency I work for is a large food bank that distributes food to more than 400 food pantries and soup kitchens on Long Island, between Nassau and Suffolk County. The agency is a non-profit organization. In addition to the distribution of food, the agency has several grant-funded programs to serve individuals and families in need. The purpose of the agency is to strive to reduce hunger and food waste on Long Island. In addition to connecting people with food resources, nutrition education and awareness is provided by the agency in various forms.
Since I only did observational duties, I was still able to do minor things that does not deal with me lifting patients or touching patients wounds. While the PT have their patients around their gait belt, I would follow behind with patients wheelchair, since at times the residences become tired quickly than others. Since majority of the residents either stayed in the wheelchair or in bed all day.
I believe that sometimes you just can’t wait for the big organizations to organize a more permanent solution to the problem. Sometimes you just need a small group of people to act quickly on short notice. A couple months into my freshmen year at New Technology High School, there was an enormous outbreak of wildfires up in Lake County. Everyone up there had to be evacuated and were moved to shelters while the firefighters struggled to gain control of the fire. While all those people were camping out in the fair grounds and filling up the homeless shelters, Red Cross was taking their time to organize and prepare donation sites.
