Operations management entails the planning, organizing and the supervising of operations within an organization, in the context of manufacturing, production or offering services (Bamford & Forrester, 2010, p.26). The approach ensures that business realize success in turning their inputs into outputs through an efficient delivery-focused approach. These inputs often represent the various elements that contribute to the operations within the organization, such as the equipment, material and technology, and the available human resources (Lawson, 2014, p.11). Through proper management of its human resources, for instance, a company may ensure increased efficiency, which can be realized through better satisfaction and customer loyalty (Bamford & Forrester, 2010, p.38). Similarly, efficiency may be improved through the management of the operations to enable sustainable use of resources.
