A teenager mother from Mississippi, Sabrina Butler was first known as the only female offender on Mississippi’s death row who was convicted for child abuse and the murder of her infant son. On the eve of April 11th, 1989, Sabrina Butler arrived at the hospital after midnight with a nine-month-old Walter Dean Butler, who was unresponsive at the scene. She claimed that she have found the baby when he unexpectedly stopped breathing, and after multiple failed attempts to resuscitate her son, she rushed to the emergency room and seek helps from medical professionals who are more knowledgeable on the matter. Sadly, her child was pounced died by the doctors following their visit to the hospital. The next day, while Sabrina was asked to give her statements at the local police station, the prosecutors arrested Sabrina under the charges of capital murder.
A Chauvin woman who was stabbed to death at a Grand Isle beach Sunday was a generous woman who loved photography and gardening, and did everything she could for her three kids despite being an amputee, her sister-in-law said. Jennifer Dozier was at the beach near Cypress Lane around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when a fight broke out between her and her boyfriend of nearly two years, Randy Paul Marcel, of Pine Street in Chauvin, police said. The fight, which witnesses say started over drugs or cigarettes, culminated in Dozier, 34, being stabbed the multiple times in the neck and torso, said Glen Boyd, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office public information officer. Marcel left Dozier's 2-year-old son, Gabriel, with his mother's body and left the scene, police said.

Isabella Baumfree protested when John Dumont , Isabella Baumfree 's previous owner whom she ran away from, sold her son, Peter, to a family in Alabama. Two white lawyers, whom we don 't know the name of, in New York gave Baumfree free legal help and liberated Peter through the courts. Sojourner Truth moved to Battle Creek, Michigan, in 1857 and became active there helping black people escape on the Underground Railroad to freedom.
