Mike Mosko Urban Anthropology Field Study: Sidney’s Saloon Neighborhoods are changing -- fast -- often moving at a rate to quick to keep pace with. Everyday we walk down streets we’ve traversed thousands of times -- or will-- and everyday they get a little bit different, a collection of faces passing us by, old and new. I am one of those new faces, a recent New Orleans transplant. While I can 't speak to the impact of changes this city and its residents have gone through, being from heavily gentrified Oakland, CA, I can certainly relate to the twisted mess of pride, politics, and pain that comes with the feeling of being a newcomer in your own city.

Andre Dubus III’s memoir titled, “Townie” reflects on Dubus’s life beginning before he was born and ending at age 40. At a young age his father left his mother for a college student and from then on his mother struggled to provide for him and his three siblings. Geronimo was a Native American legend who fought off the Mexicans and the Americans for decades until he surrendered in 1886. Geronimo was born in June, 1929, in No-Doyohn Canyon, Mexico. He and his parents belonged to the Apache, the smallest band of the Chiricahua Tribe. In 1982, The Cheyenne Saloon and Opera House opened its doors, built by Bob Snow with the help of artistic designer Lee Pharr. In our video we explained that most people in the group do not believe that the Biltmore hotel is haunted, because there's not enough evidence to support that reason, to prove that the hotel is haunted. However i believe that the hotel is very ,much so haunted with the souls that have been murdered their because they are not at peace. I have three reasons as to why i believe that the hotel is haunted. Reason number 1 when the hotel was built they did not have a designated time to stop serving drinks (alcohol) to people and with that said a several policemen have been accused of murder and a mayor has also been accused of murder.
