Moore put his efforts into raising the reputation of the Weather Bureau rather than accurate forecasting. He put aside the weather predictions from other people (like the Cubans weather forecast) and agencies. Moore did not want the Bureau's reputation along with his own, to be damaged by the panic that could follow calling weaker storms a "hurricane." He also maintained strict control of the term "hurricane." Pride convinced Moore that a false warning of a hurricane was worse to his own reputation than no warning at all.

However, history neglects the effects of hurricanes on the British effort although it greatly challenged the efficiency of the logistics trains and thus the British war effort. The hurricanes devastated the logistics holding centers the British had on the islands off the American coast as evidenced by the great hurricane of 1780. It is interesting to note that General Cornwallis surrendered in 1781, the year after the great hurricane and he often used coastal ship to supply his army in the field. The hurricane season of 1870 had a devastating effect on British military efforts. During the revolutionary war these series of hurricanes contributed to the defeat of British forces particularly the 1780 hurricane
It’s the year 1976, the United States Senate has just called for a new inquiry into the infamous assassination of President John F. Kennedy, who was shot in 1963 during his own motorcade in Dallas, TX while running for re-election. The CIA along with the FBI were coaxed into releasing new documents on Lee Harvey Oswald, and individuals who had not given evidence previously were persuaded to come forward. Pieces of evidence such as sound recordings and photographs were being subjected to scientific research analysis using more modern equipment. In 1979 the House Select Committee on Assassinations, or (HCSA), finally came to a verdict that Lee Harvey Oswald shot three times at the president; one of which, hitting his head and killing him. It was also concluded that a fourth shot was taken from ‘the grassy knoll’, which was something that was contradicting to the statement given by the Warren Commission 16 years earlier.
On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza fatally shot twenty students and six staff members of Sandy Hook Elementary School (SHES) in Newtown, Connecticut before committing suicide. Lanza’s horrific massacre evoked fear and grief across the United States, but it soon became the subject of controversy and debate. Because of the growing distrust in the government in 2012, these conspiracy theories became pervasive in the media through the support of prominent “truthers” such as Alex Jones. Although most of the truthers’ arguments have been disproved, the conspiracy theories of the SHES massacre maintains
They did not want this to happen again so congress authorized the US Army Corps of Engineers to build the Herbert Hoover Dike. In 1947 another set of Hurricane’s came through and flooded Florida sparking Congress to act. Congress made the central and southern Florida
When it comes to urban legends and conspiracy theories, there is one urban legend in particular that comes to mind; Area 51. Area 51 is a United States military base located just north of Las Vegas, Nevada. It is a place whose existence the U.S. government long spurned to acknowledge, until now. On August 16th, 2015, the CIA released declassified documents about the history of the U-2 plane. These documents officially acknowledge Area 51.
There are some natural disasters that shake up the world and make people depressed, but Hurricane Katrina was like no other. Even though warnings were given and evacuations were held nearly 2,000 people died because of this hurricane. During the storm winds were as fast as 175 mph with heavy rain all through out. People were stranded and about 8,000 homes were destroyed. People had to wait five days at the superdome full of many New Orleans residents.
The imperialistic mentality of the American government after the Civil War, led to some degree to the Spanish-American war that would render a great acquisition of land for the United States. However, imperialism would not be the sole factor that led to the war against Spain, but also the sympathy felt by the American government towards Cuba’s efforts in fighting for their independence; additionally, the United States would seek to protect its commercial interests (sugar) in the island. Therefore, after invoking the Spanish to secede from their brutal practices towards Cuban rebels and attain a peaceful end to the situation, the United States arbitrarily sent a navy ship, “The USS Maine” to monitor the area.

A hurricane can reach winds to about 155 mph and only starts if it is by or on wet areas. The hurricane can destroy anything in it’s path and will not slow down until the wind and storm cools down.
Americans learned more about what happened during the Spanish American War through articles that exposed the violent tensions in Cuba. The Americans then felt the need that we should help Cuba against Spain. The Americans in power wanted to remain neutral, while the public wanted to go to war. The U.S. Maine was a battleship that was sent to Cuba to spy on them and understand the situation in person. While the ship was there, it mysteriously blew up, the blame was put on Spain for the explosion.
Everybody knew that a storm was coming, and everyone had different opinions on whether or not the storm was going to hit Galveston and if it did how severe it was going to be if it did hit. Clines opinion was almost for sure that the storm was not going to hit Galveston. But it did end up hitting write on the coast of Galveston. Once the storm had hit, water began rushing down the streets and separating houses from their foundation. It swept anything that was in its way.
One of the reason that cause hurricane it’s depend on environment. Hurricane use the warm air and warm ocean as the power of the storm. As being said, the warm temperature that form above the ocean create the rotating wind because when warm air and cool air are touching together then it makes an area of lower pressure, warm air is lighter than cool air so higher air pressure pushes into the lower pressure area and it cause hurricane.
