Do you think that other people should have control over your body? In Samira Hassan essay, “Opinion: The overturning of Roe v. Wade is one of the biggest injustices against women. Hassan appropriately appeals to women that are affected by the overturning of Roe v. Wade and she supported her message with various information, and personal emotions all while creating a caring tone in her writing to sympathies to the audience.
First and foremost, Hassan knows that she has to use etho’s masterfully to appeal to the audience. Hassan presented her emotion and the new generation to make the audience have an emotional reaction. In the article she stated that “It’s a social setback that will affect so many women alive now and future generations to come” (Hassan, 2022). This shows that she is telling the audience that she is not only worried about the times right now but to also have some type of emotion to the future generation because this will be a bug change. She wants the reader to feel bad for this generation and the next. Hassan also makes sure to incorporate her emotions and the audience so they wont lose interest. Hassan does this effect by giving you information and then putting her own emotions and opinion on the matter, then she leads in with a question or statement that makes you feel like she is asking the question. This is because we the people or audience are the ones who can make a change. Hassan also made sure to not just let her opinions and emotions tell the whole story. She specifically told you what the case and or law passed was and what it will do. She did that because it allowed her to get to the audience more if they knew what she was feeling pity or sad for which then can also make it to where the reader feels bad which is a perfect use of …show more content…

Hassan accomplished this by knowing that her argument is controversial, she had to include both information and a caring tone that portrayed that she actually cared and she used simple language so everyone can understand. She used this to show that she wants everyone to be able to know what is happening no matter how good you can read, this shows that she cares for all the readers no matter who they are. In addition to providing so much information Hassan made sure that everyone could easily understand what they were reading. She was able to do this because after every bit of information she explained what it was so she can add her emotions to the explanation. Hassan also made use of the pronouns like “us”, “our”, “we”, to make sure that she engages the audience. She does this so she can engage the audience and make sure that the reader does not stop reading half way through the article. It is also used for the reader to try and appeal more to the reader's
