Proposing the Future
Introduction
The purpose of this exercise is to propose a white paper that will inform a decision maker, previously identified as Truell Hyde of Baylor University’s Research Department, of a technological advancement that will allow this organization to attain one or more of its goals. In Exercise 3, I explained that the organization focuses on research, and with my paper I will provide them information on a technology that will save their medical research program time and money. Some of Baylor’s goals would obviously involve advancing their medical research, this new technology, Human Organs-on-Chips will hopefully allow Baylor to quicken their research process, which will in turn help the entire population because it

Due to Baylor’s current medical research, they are unable to devote time and resources to research more efficient ways of conducting research. I, composing the white paper, will be able to do my own research and provide a solution to this problem, which is a lack of information. With my research on Human Organs-on-Chips, I will give Hyde the information about the technology and how it can be of use to Baylor University. Baylor will not need to devote any unnecessary time towards further research on this subject, as the white paper will provide the information they are currently lacking.
One issue with new developments is that it takes time for organizations to find them and decide to use them. This may be an issue for as I am researching, because this also means that I may not be able to find very much information about Human Organs-on-Chips. The reason that I am choosing to solve this problem for Baylor is because as a college student, I can take the time necessary to research for hours, and really find the information that Hyde will require to properly inform his organization of this technology.

A rough estimate of how many sources I will use is probably about ten, but I may read through and look at up to twenty if I can find that many. I will use some sources more than others, as I may only cite a couple lines of text from one and end up citing bits of a couple paragraphs from another. What I am trying to do with my resources is get a variety of information to use. I want to look at this technology from multiple different viewpoints to get a better understanding of it. The more opinions and research I find on the subject, the more I can compare and contrast to see how Human Organs-on-Chips can actually be useful for research. The more I know on the subject, the better I can relay the information through my paper and to the decision
