For this week’s discussion. I have chosen to write about OR nurse manager and OR nurse educator. OR nurse manager has a supervisor management position, understands the regulatory rules and able develop a staffing plan for the OR personal and supervises doctors. Our OR manager makes sure that all the surgical procedures are performed efficiently the cost of drugs that are used in the OR, minimize the and maximize the number of surgical cases, and accommodate the expected workload. Even though, our OR nurse manager is a great she does have some communication skills issues. She has very strong personality depending of the days and her mood. For example, one of the conflicts she was with surgeons are she gets angry if they show up late to surgery which is understandable but she starts yelling at the presence of other people or patients. …show more content…
We got to work at assigned time but surgeon was not able to show up till 7:30. When she did the rounds and I just came in into the room with the patient she was confronting the surgeon with a potentially explosive manger. Even though, she is the manager I believe all employee should be treated with dignity and respect. She should have approached the situation as a mature and professional manner or not at least in from of the patient or other OR personal.
