One of the most basic principles of this country is that each and every human being has certain unalienable rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Deciding if and when you have a baby is very personal and only you know what is best for you and your family. In the 18th century and until about 1880, abortions were allowed under common law and widely practiced. Abortions were illegal only after “quickening”, the highly subjective term used to describe when pregnant women could feel the fetus moving or the first signs of life. Many try to enforce laws prohibiting abortion for women who would feel they or the baby is better off unborn. Why make someone have a baby that they don’t want if it isn't in the best interest for them or the baby? Many studies show that women who are denied abortion have kids that will be unhappier, feel unloved or unwanted and resolve to criminal acts. Denying women abortion can send mothers and their children into economic deprivation or to depend on the government or someone financially. Waiting to have children later may be in the best choice if you are having doubts or are not in a good financial or economic situation. The choice is yours to make.
